Fatum

Voici un dessin fait un peu dans une démarche surréaliste, notamment en utilisant une technique dérivée du dessin automatique des surréalistes: une feuille blanche, un fusain en main, une tête vide, et on laisse l'instinct créer le dessin ex-nihilo, en laissant sa main aller et venir sans faire jamais intervenir la réflexion, en excluant toute idée, bonne ou mauvaise, toute rationalité. Puis ensuite (si nécessaire), on rajoute quelques détails pour compléter. Le résultat peut-etre souvent décevant, mais quelques fois, il est intéressant.

Here is a drawing done in a kind of surreal approach, using a technique derived from the surrealist automatic drawing technique: a blank sheet, a charcoal in the hand, an empty head, and let the instinct create the drawing from scratch, leaving the hands come and go without ever letting the reflection interfering, exclude any ideas, good or bad, any rationality. And then (if necessary) few details are added to complete. The result is often disappointing, but sometimes, it's interesting.

Marie Eunice 2

Une seconde illustration, même inspi que la précédente, mais en plus grande et plus "complète". J'ai essayé de mélanger plusieurs éléments de l'histoire dans une même illustration tout en restant le plus cohérent possible.

A second illustration, with the same inspiration than previous one, but bigger and more "completed". I tried to mix many elements of the story in the same illustration, while staying as consistent as possible.

Sancta Maria Eunici

Un dessin inspirer du personnage de soeur Marie -Eunice dans la saison 2 de AHS.
J'aime beaucoup la symbolique, donc forcément "l'oxymore" que représente une nonne totalement ingénue possédée par le diable, ça m'inspire!

Here is a drawing of the sister Marie-eunice from the season 2 of the TV show AHS. 
I really like symbolic, so of course the "oxymoron" depicted by an ingenuous nun possessed by the devil, that's a great source of inspiration for me!

Blow the trumpets, Nergal

Voici un dessin directement inspiré par le clip de la chanson "Blow Your Trumpets, Gabriel" du groupe Behemoth.
J'aime beaucoup l'esthétique de cette vidéo, vous risquez donc de revoir bientôt quelques dessins inspirés par celle-ci sur ce blog.

Précis technique, pour ceux que ça intéresserai (si quelques dessineux passent par ce blog):
il s'agit ici de mon premier essai en pointillisme. C'est très utile pour avoir une infini subtilité dans les tons, mais ça demande énormément de patience... Beaucoup trop... Et ça tue le matos (un Rapidograph à rendu l'âme sur ce dessin, pourtant de taille modeste...)

Technical point for those interested in (if some illustrator/cartoonist read this blog):
This is my first try with pointillism. This is very useful for having an infinite subtility in tones, but it takes a lot of patience... Too much... and it kills the tools (a Rapidograph pen is dead for this drawing, and it's a modest size drawing...)

Jane Lane Artwork

Étant fan de la série Daria, j'ai décidé de reproduire certaines des œuvres de Jane Lane que l'on peut trouver un peu partout au cours des diverses saisons. Je posterai sur ce blog les différents résultats avec un screenshot des scènes dont il sont extraits. On commence par un "portrait" qui colle bien au style barré du personnage.

As a fan of the show Daria, I decided to reproduce some of the Jane Lane's artworks that we can see all along the seasons. I will show on this blog the results with a screenshot of the scene from which they've been extracted. Let's start with a "portraiture" that fit perfectly the twisted artistic sensibility of this character.
